IA Cocktail Hour in Santiago de Chile
mantruc, our evolter from South America, hosted the first meeting of web workers with experience in Information Architecture in his city.
The event gathered 11 people in its first incarnation. It was a very enthusiastic conversation and they all hope to gather more people for next month.
IA Cocktail Hours take place every first Thursday of each month in several cities around the globe. This first step added Santiago to that list, helped in coordination by the people of Spain, who started their meetings a couple of months ago.
Spanish Invitation ahead:

Site Launches
After working on it since last summer, MartinB's pretty relieved that the new guinness.com site has gone live. Just in time for St Patrick's Day, too.
Evoltspotting
Shirley Kaiser was mentioned in a New York Times article for her writing about the accessibility of the Olympics web site on her blog. You can also read Martin's article here on evolt.org about the very same thing: Olympics Heading for New Accessibility Suit.
Aardvark's article A Simple Character Entity Chart has been linked to by Jeffrey Zeldman, the driving force behind A List Apart.
Beervolts
Milwaukee Beervolt: Outside temp: 30°F; outdoor patio at Trocadero Cafe and Tabac: 68°. Space heating rulez and everyone was comfortable. There were so many people from Madison that the next Beervolt will be March 1st (or is that date now called “DIvine”?) at the Weary Traveler in Madison. Pictures are available on Miriam's evolt member site.
Toronto Beervolt: Dean Mah was in town from Calgary for a concert, so we had yet another beervolt. Pictures are available on Rudy's evolt member site. The following day, Michele and Dean drove down to Niagara Falls and met up with the aardvark; additional pictures on Dean's evolt member site.
Other Happenings
Garrett has just moved house from Oxford up to Dudley, so there's a decent chance of some beervolts in the West Midlands.
