Our friends at Microsoft have announced a new set of technologies that will encompass new strategies, platforms, and development tools.

Their main pitch is allowing Web sites to expose their data via XML so that other sites can view the data in a personalized way.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't this sound a lot like what my.netscape.com and userland.com are already doing?

We here at evolt.org even use an XML document to extract the day's article from our Web site that sends an email to thelist@lists.evolt.org. Can anyone else see any other differences in what MS is doing here?
